Desirae Thomson, RVT

Her farm experience, along with nine years in 4H, gave her a good foundation in the agriculture sector. She is a graduate from the Physiotherapist Assistant Program at Red Deer College, and in November of 2016 her passion for animals led her to Riverstone Vet. In 2019 she graduated from Olds College after completed the Animal Health Technology program. Desirae spends many weekends on the rodeo trail competing on the amateur barrel racing circuit, and in her spare time she can be found enjoying the outdoors through hiking, camping, and working with her young horse projects.
Victoria Duckworth, RVT
Born in Calgary, AB, Victoria was raised as a big city girl. It was after graduating from Business Management at Camosun College that she realized a desk job in the corporate world was not for her! Victoria enrolled at Olds College in the AHT program, moved to Olds and decided she loved the small town life. Throughout her time at the college, Victoria volunteered with the Cochrane Humane Society, and fostered many rescue dogs. She was also honoured to sit on the Animal Care Committee at Olds College. After graduating, she joined Riverstone where she enjoys the hands-on aspect of animal care.
Victoria's other passion is travel, and while volunteering in orphanages in Nepal and India, she developed a desire to return one day and help provide medical care to the many street animals.
When not working, Victoria enjoys spending time with her standard poodle Goose, and can be found enjoying the great outdoors!
Nischal Nayar, RVT

One of these places was Canada where he worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center. He fell in love with the country, its nature, animals, and people. He has since moved to Alberta permanently to pursue the life he has always wanted. Having decided to dedicate his life towards animals, Nischal enrolled and graduated from the AHT program at Olds College. She spent the majority of her weekends working on a local dairy farm contributing to her keen interest in large animal medicine. In 2017 Meg received an award for her research on antimicrobial stewardship in the equine industry and is currently in the process of writing her first publication. She has a passion for diagnostic radiology and ultrasound and hopes to continue her education in this field in the future.
During her free time she enjoys golfing, hiking, kiteboarding, traveling the world for the best dive spots and of course spending time with her horses.
Jessica Nabozniak, RVT
Jess was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She spent most of her grade school years taking riding lessons, and eventually working as a stable hand throughout high school. Following high school graduation, she landed a job as a technician’s assistant at a mixed animal practice, which is what led her to apply for the AHT program at Olds College in 2017. During her college schooling, she spent a huge portion of her time lending an extra hand on the Olds College farm, learning as much as possible about working with both bovine and small ruminant patients. Jess has a primary interest in large animal medicine, but is passionate about providing exceptional care in all aspects of veterinary medicine.
When Jess isn’t helping at the clinic, she is happiest hiking, horseback riding, and camping. As a 2019 Olds College graduate she is excited to continue working in, and learning about the industry with the Riverstone team!
Hannah Feddema, RVT
Hannah grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and though she was raised in the city, she values a strong sense of community and has strived to play an active role. Much of her youth was spent volunteering and participating in fundraising events. This community involvement introduced her to animal welfare initiatives and shifted her focus to supporting organizations such as the Humane Society, WildNorth, and the World Wildlife Fund. She spent two years volunteering for a wildlife rehabilitation centre before relocating to Sundre to attend the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College. She completed her practicum at Riverstone and officially became a part of the team shortly after graduation. Hannah’s favourite activities include hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. When she’s not on the move, she enjoys tapping into her creative side with embroidery, drawing, or playing her guitar.

Nikki completed the AHT program and joined the Riverstone Team in the summer of 2021.
When she's not working, Nikki loves hanging out with her daughters Raelynn and Anna, or being outdoors hiking, camping, riding, gardening or working on the farm.
